Meet the Mohrg, in D&D an undead revenant of a mass killer.
I think something more creative can be done with it and I changed it around in my own D&D projects:
Mohrgs (in my project) are horrid aberrations, living diseases that grow fat by feeding on murder and slaughter like a horrid living cancer or cyst.
When any person enters the Far Realm they sometimes coming back changed. A mohrg-spore has entered the victims mouth in the form of a spore and once inside it will patiently wait for the victim to commit a murder so it can grow larger, stimulating the progress of killing with telepathic whispers inside the host.
The horrid thing about this is that the Mohrg’s- cancer-like growth doesn’t hurt the host at all, it gives off a feeling of euphoria every time the host kills a victim so it becomes addicted to killing other creatures after a while so the Mohrg disease grows fat and large rather swiftly at that point.
Once the mohrgs hosts dies (in battle or otherwise) the creature will burst free from the flesh appearing as a horrid intestine-like growth covering the skeleton of the assassin or mass murderer and continue the killing as usual, collecting all types of undead creatures around it which it can command. Mohrgs use their long viscera-like tentacles to drain the victims organs with.
Many victims mistake a Mohrg for a mindless skeleton-like undead, this often results in their defeat or death as the mohrg is immune to holy magic and is very intelligent. The actual creature is the pink intestine-like growth, the skeleton is being used as a puppet with the actual creatures telekinetic abilities.
What you think of this idea? Or do you prefer the undead Mohrg?
