www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZkzAnYEPnYthis video from Drawfee gave me some inspiration in it they mention "Phrase people" example- Debbie Downer, and Even Steven. and then they say they are like American versions of those extremely specific Yokai. anyway what does everyone think of turning things like phrases and old saying into monsters?

The hippogriff is kind of like that, having originated as a "when pigs fly"-style example of an absurd occurrence, a Gryphon breeding with a horse, given that the two species were said to be natural enemies.

I was sorta thinking about having a species of monster called a 'Leapin' Lizard' based on the saying, but that's about the closest I've come to actually adding a phrase-based monster. I have creatures called Jinx Eaters which are based on common superstitions revolving around bad luck, like stepping on cracks or breaking mirrors. They're basically spiritual parasites that cause annoying levels of bad luck. If enough of them are attached to a person then they can kill people by instigating extreme misfortune, but they're normally not much of a problem.
