I am finally ready to post my bestiary and project ideas ( fourth attempt after a bad storm and my tablet erasing an hour of typing it out) . the bestiary will serve as a guide for all mythology related projects I work on. the monsters are all from mythology and cryptids as well as a few from fairy tales, urban legends, and modern rpg tropes (ex- Cthulhu, skeletons, undead dragons, generic ogres, and Santa Claus) I will continue to add to my list of over 1000 creatures and im unlikely to cut anything from the list. I will list creatures that are too similar to other creatures underneathe as subspecies and recolors of those creatures. I wont be copying and pasting my full list with full descriptions that are already copy pasted and make the list over 300 pages long, so i probably wont include all the descriptions here please feel free to ask about any creatures on the list.
Now I would like to go into some details about my project ideas to start with there are multiple worlds earth, the realm of the fairies, the netherworld, heaven, and assorted other worlds possibly tartarus, a alternate dimension, and a world of yokai the earth in this world might be a different earth as all of the lost islands, countries, and continents exist on this earth. travel between these worlds is possible through portals however they may also be reachable through a ridiculously long journey across space.
each world has magic existing in it like an element in our periodic tables it can take 3 main forms- gaseous magic is in the air like oxygen but on earth it distributes itself and move oddly in some areas it becomes heavily saturated people have tried to map these areas calling them leylines however while the leylines are real its still pretty random. anything or anyone using magic in these place would find its significantly more powerful than normal. If any living creatures are in the magic saturated "fog" they will mutate possibly drastically and very fast these mutations are usually beneficial and this is where most magical creatures come from. this often greatly speeds up evolution and species diversity as those creatures then breed and a new species is created. one of a kind creatures are also possible. however some creatures whether they be highly magical or more mundane can develop a resistance to magic which is why already magical animals dont constantly mutate, and why normal animals are still around and why some of them do not have many magical variations.
its said the world itself mutates some creatures to be guardians of their species, their forest, or of something dangerous
when magic is dense enough thats when physical and liquid magic can form its dangerous to touch directly as its unpredictable but it greatly strengthens magical weapons, equipment, and potions
the magic in all the different worlds works differently the magic in the demon world is strong throughout any demon that keeps trying to get stronger to survive or rise up to the ranks of demon lord or even overlord can continue to keep changing as they get stronger. any creature that enters the Netherworld and survives is very likely to eventually become a demon some species of demon come entirely from a few animals wandering in through a portal and surviving. demons are not inherently evil but some are ferocious predators or just extremely dangerous, and the netherworld itself is full of volcanoes, swamps, and monster filled forests so mutating into a demon is often very good for survival. fairies cannot mutate into demons and angels are free too choose what they will be. the difference in magic as well as earths much lower level of magic cause demons to come through in an incorporeal form they eventually solidify with the exception of those that become a type of demon that takes advantage of this new form. they can also posess humans and animals but this is considered a lowly parlor trick of weaker demons.
Fairy world magic is equally bountiful however those entering the realm of the fae are not all that likely to be changed very much. fae magic causes less changes however it is significantly more usable. the fae lose power when entering earth as they are not used to the low magic levels and the difference between the 2 magics causes them to be weak to iron
I will start listing my bestiary soon starting with the common creatures and their numerous subspecies followed by listing the rest by country. hope you enjoyed whta i have so far.

Cool, I like it that many people now can post their ideas and worldbuilding here!
I have some questions though:
Can you explain the goblins? Wirry-Cow as goblin? I'm rather curious what it will be!
Also do you not use the other cyclops creatures? Papinijuwari? Tartalo? and Bungisnigis?
Same with black dogs, the Gwyllgi and Cadejo?
Harpy, Siren? Alkonost?
Otherwise, I can't wait to read the more obscure monsters!

Would you be willing to describe the Tintilinic, Cartozonon, Rongeur d'os, Hairy Jack, Yaryond, and Hairless Blue Horse, and, if possible, provide sources?

I like dueal nature/ good/evil twin creatures whichever I go with the cadejo is the most interesting creature with that gimmick Alkonost will get its own slot- maybe sirens will be something completely different they will be bird/fish/women with lots of sharp teeth. like the sirens in Witcher 3 or even the ones in Ice Age 4 witcher.wikia.com/wiki/Siren I cant rfind a more clear version of their more monstrous form but thats the gist of it. Oh and Subspecies will work like recolors and will appear in different countries if they have any different abilities or fun descriptions it gets added to the main creatures anyway before i add more exotic creatures i will finish up the commons and worldwide creatures + subspecies today

I found this on the Roblon:
Another strange creature of the deep wilderness is the Roblon. This was an old and common oak that developed a hollowness in its trunk. It is said one rainy eve, a beautiful maiden took refuge in the hollow part of the tree and its youthfulness activate the sap of the old tree, bringing it alive and absorbing the spirit of the girl. With time the Robon grew bigger and adopted human-like features, and due to its size and need for life, it drained away other trees around leaving them dry and dead. A few years after this happening, it is said the Roblon got so big it felt the need to move so it pulled the roots out of the ground, and that since then he wonders the woods causing illness to the vegetation or smashing bushes while he walks. He is also made responsible for the mist in the forest and tremors of the land. However, it is a common story among the Cantabrian lumberjacks and hunters is that Roblon has now died, for some of this trade found the creature resting in the woods one day and manage to set it on fire… Link

yep thats the one i especially like that it can control trmors and fog thats great in a tree monster greek list updated and finished persian and several other lists to be added to that section I love the story about the spirit-absorbing, I turn this creature into an undead-like tree with all the faces of its victims sticking out of the bark, crying for help for all of eternity, when the tree is slain, all trapped spirits escape in a whirlwind of souls. The mist around the tree are actually the souls of its victims as well. I do nothing with the earthquakes, I have Namazu and the Jinshi Mushi for that.
